OGDEN, UTAH (Aug. 27, 2010) – The fifth season of events on Big Sky TV launches Tuesday with volleyball action, followed by the first football game on Thursday night.
Big Sky TV, the Big Sky Conference’s comprehensive video streaming, allows fans to watch all football, volleyball, and men’s and women’s basketball games held in Big Sky venues free of charge.
This is the second season that the Big Sky has teamed with B2 Networks to distribute Big Sky TV. Fans can enter Big Sky TV through www.bigskytv.org., or through www.b2tv.com. New viewers need to create an account. Viewers who created accounts during the 2009-10 season will be able to once again use those. New accounts can be created five minutes prior to the start of an event. Account holders can begin signing in to events five minutes prior to start time.
The first volleyball matches will be played on Tuesday with Portland State playing host to Oregon State of the Pac-10. Also on Tuesday, defending Big Sky champion Northern Colorado opens its home schedule against Air Force of the Mountain West Conference. Both matches begin at 7 p.m. local time.
On Wednesday, Sacramento State opens its home schedule against Santa Clara of the West Coast Conference at 7 p.m. Pacific.
The first football game of the 2010 season hits Big Sky TV at 7 p.m. Pacific, as Northern Arizona plays host to Western New Mexico. Saturday’s football schedule includes games from Montana, Montana State, Northern Colorado and Idaho State.
Montana, ranked second in the nation at the Division I Football Championship Subdivision level, faces Western State at 1 p.m. Mountain. Montana State, ranked 24th in the nation, battles Fort Lewis at the same time. At 1:30 p.m. Mountain, Northern Colorado welcomes Adams State to Greeley. Idaho State kicks off at 3:30 p.m. Mountain against UM-Western.
Volleyball tournament action from Sacramento State, Northern Colorado and Northern Arizona rounds out coverage on Friday and Saturday.
B2 also makes selected games available for replay viewing throughout the season at www.b2cabletv.com. Each Big Sky team has its own channel with events shown 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Fans will also be able to electronically download games for their own personal use at a cost of $19.95 per event.
Big Sky TV brings more than 400 live events to viewers around the world each season. During the 2009-10 season, more than 30,000 fans registered to view Big Sky TV events.
