WHITEFISH, Mont., Feb. 28, 2010 — Frontier Conference commissioner Kent Paulson announced the first round pairings for 2010 men’s basketball playoffs.

First round games are scheduled for Tuesday, March 2; semi-finals on Friday, March 5 and the championship game on Monday, March 8.

Top four teams based on conference standings host the bottom four teams in the first round. Conference tie-breaking procedures determined final seeding. In the semi-final and championship rounds, the highest seeded teams will always host.

Westminster College finished the regular season with a 13-1 conference mark to earn the No. 1 seed. All games begin at 7 p.m. local time. Because both teams from the University of Great Falls are traveling to Westminster College for the first round, both games will be played on Tuesday, March 2 with the women’s game at 6 p.m. and the men’s game at 8 p.m.

First Round Pairings: No. 8 University of Great Falls (3-11, 7-21) at No. 1 Westminster College (13-1, 23-5); No. 7 Montana Tech (4-10, 11-19) at No. 2 Montana Western (10-4, 22-8); No. 6 Lewis-Clark (5-9, 14-14) at No. 3 Montana State-Northern (9-5, 21-9), No. 5 Carroll College (6-8, 13-15) at No. 4 Rocky Mountain College (6-8, 11-18).
