Digger Football Adds New Coach

Montana Tech head football coach Bob Green, has announced the hiring of Richard T. (Rich) Mayson to an assistant coaching position on the Oredigger staff. Mayson joins the Diggers after two seasons on the Northwest Missouri State Staff. Coach Mayson will work with Wide Receivers and Tight Ends at Tech along with video editing and Special Teams duties. While at Northwest Missouri Rich was part of two teams which captured M.I.A.A. conference championships and advanced to the N.C.A.A. Division II National championship Game. He coached All American receiver Kendall Wright and All Conference Receiver Abe Qaoud while with the Bearcats.

Coach Mayson is a graduate of Truman Mo. State University where he was an outstanding player at both wide receiver and tight end. Rich captained the Bulldogs in 2005 and 2006. He is a native of Mexico, Mo. Coach Mayson and his wife Kristin, have moved to Butte where Rich has already begun his coaching duties. “Rich Mayson has an exceptional background as a player and a coach.” Green said “He will be a great fit for Oredigger Football and for Montana Tech.”
