GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - The board of the Montana East-West
Shrine all-star football game has decided to rotate the game's
location among Great Falls, Butte and Billings.
The game will remain in Great Falls this summer, hosted by the
Algeria Shrine, the board decided Saturday.
It will be rotated to the Bagdad Temple in Butte in 2010 and to
the Al Bedoo Temple in Billings in 2011. If any temple decides to
pass on hosting the game, the next temple in line has the
opportunity to host the game.
The Montana East-West Shrine Game has been hosted by Great Falls
since 1947. Interest in the game has waned in recent years and in
October, the board voted to move the game to Butte. However, some
questioned whether the vote violated the organization's bylaws.
This year's game is scheduled for July 18. Dan Stanton of Miles
City will coach the East team and Gary Ekegren of Missoula Big Sky
will coach the West.
