Cromwell Fails to Qualify for Olympics

UNDATED (AP) - Missoula native David Cromwell has failed to
advance to the finals in the 200 meter backstroke at the U.S.
Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska.
Cromwell finished 10th with a time of 1:59:62. Aaron Peirsol, of
Irvine, California, finished first at 1:55:78. The top eight
swimmers advance to tomorrow night's finals.
Cromwell got to the semifinals with a time of 2:00:03 this
morning. The Harvard graduate finished ninth in the 100 backstroke
Monday.
