MISSOULA, MONT – Former Missoula Osprey pitcher (2002), Dustin Nippert, tossed a no-hitter Sunday to secure a 2-0 win for the Texas Rangers affiliated Oklahoma Redhawks. Nippert has been regaining his confidence and pitching consistently in his last ten starts since struggling in April with the Rangers big league club.

Nippert was the first pitcher in Redhawks history to pitch a no-hitter and second of the year in the Pacific Coast League. In the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday, Nippert struck out five to match his season best.

The Diamondbacks 2002 15th round pick played for the Missoula Osprey before acquiring much national status attention. While playing for the Osprey in 2002, Nippert was honored with “Pitcher of the week” after going 7 2-3 innings with seven strikeouts.

Tickets for the 2008 Missoula Osprey season are on sale, with home games this Tuesday thru Thursday against the Helena Brewers. You may purchase tickets at the Missoula Osprey office at 412 W. Alder St., via the web at www.missoulaosprey.com, or call (406) 543-3300.
