MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Former Montana State football player
Demetrius Williams, who prosecutors said was the leader of a
cocaine ring in the Bozeman area, has been sentenced to 10 years in
federal prison.
U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy of Missoula sentenced Williams
on Friday.
Molloy also sentenced Williams to five years of supervised
release and turned him over to the custody of U.S. marshals.
Williams pleaded guilty in December to conspiring to sell
cocaine from June 2005 through May 2007.
The conspiracy also led to guilty pleas and federal prison
sentences for former MSU football player Richard Gatewood, his
brother Randy Gatewood, and several others.
Williams played football at MSU during the fall of 2003 after
transferring from Contra Costa Community College.
