A Cat Griz Rivalry in the Clubhouse

I'm not a Cat.
I'm not a Griz.
No ties to the Cats.
No ties to the Griz.

That being said, everywhere I go in Montana the Cat Griz argument comes up. It's inside the armory gymnasium in Havre, you hear it at the bars in Whitefish, I've chatted about it on the chairlift at Showdown...It's on my Twitter, its on my Facebook, and its at the Sip and Dip Lounge.

I don't mind it. It's kind of nice arguing about something that you really have no stakes in. That way, when the person I'm arguing with really just gets obnoxious, I can step aside and know I'm really not losing anything. (That's just not possible if I'm arguing Huskies / Cougars. I will NEVER lose to a Cougar and will argue with them until they are inevitably too drunk to formulate words).

Now, all of THAT being said, when I went out to Seattle to catch up with some Montana natives who work for the Mariners, I really didn't expect to get put in the middle of any Cat Griz nonsense.

Luckily for me, I wasn't put in the middle. But I did have to listen as Griz Ryan Divish and Bobcat Allen Wirtala recalled their favorite moments inside the Mariners Clubhouse. They found a player in there who was more than happy to stir the pot and participate in the Cat Griz shenanigans.

If you've seen mysterious pictures floating around Twitter, Facebook, or just the web in general featuring Ken Griffey Junior in a Montana State and then a Montana t-shirt...this video will provide you an explanation.
