Crawford Back From UFL Tryout

Tools

By Dave Griffiths

I chatted with Demetrius Crawford today, so I wanted to keep you all in the loop.

Crawford participated in the UFL tryout in Florida on Saturday, and it was a bit different than he expected. The tryout was open to all comers, and about 300 people were expected. How 'bout over 1000? Yeah... That's more like it.

Crawford said people anywhere from 20 to 40 years old showed up for the tryout, but the coaches running the gig knew who the big players were, and spent more time with them than the typical off-the-street guy who just showed up.

Crawford specifically spoke with Florida coach Jim Haslett and the Florida running backs coach as well. He said the coaches put a star by his name on their master sheet (gotta be a good thing), and right now they're going over tape of several of the participants. The next step, according to Crawford, is they'll either sign players right away or bring them back for a private workout.

That's the latest. As always, I'll have the most up-to-date Demetrius Crawford information right here on The Tenzone Blog as well as on 10@10 every night on your local ABCMONTANA station.
