Click on the "watch video" link to see the full interview with Griz Head Coach Bobby Hauck from before practice this afternoon. Should pretty much answer all your questions about the format and emphasis of tomorrow's scrimmage. For anyone who doesn't know, the scrimmage starts around 9:45 AM at the Riverbowl practice fields on the University of Montana campus. It is open to the public and will last about 90 minutes. I'll have plenty of scrimmage thought and video up on the blog tomorrow afternoon. Just a couple quick notes for today....

- The team was greeted by a performance from the UM band before practice this afternoon. The entire team gathered around the band on the field for about 15 minutes and listened to several musical numbers. It ended, of course, with a spirited rendition of the UM fight song, which defensive tackle Craig Mettler really seemed to enjoy.

- Tomorrow should be a great opportunity to see some of the freshman in action. Coach Hauck said the emphasis of this scrimmage will be to get the young guys acclimated to playing college football.

- Lots of position battles are up for grabs and tomorrow is a chance for guys to really stand out and distinguish themselves. Coach Hauck said the carries will be split evenly among the running backs. Will Chase Reynolds, Andrew Schmidt, or Thomas Brooks-Fletcher emerge from the pack? Will the freshman cornerbacks be able to translate their constant improvement on the practice field over to live action tomorrow? Will true freshman Andrew Douglass and Alex Shaw be able to crack the rotation at linebacker? While these may all still be valid questions after the scrimmage, we should have a clearer picture on some of the answers.

It's a good time of year. Getting closer to the start of what should be a very interesting season. Tomorrow is an iimportant step. Until then...
