BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — Two former Montana State University basketball players have been arrested after a melee in front of a Bozeman bar.

Police say 22-year-old Marquis Johnson Navarre was arrested early Friday after he was seen swinging at a man outside the Bozeman Hotel on East Main Street just after midnight. Navarre, who faces misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, was shot with a Taser gun twice.

Court records say 22-year-old William B. Bynum III tried to pull an officer off his former teammate and was later arrested when he cursed at another officer who told him to get out of the middle of the street.

Police say his actions and profanity were inciting members of a "hostile" crowd that had gathered at the scene. Bynum faces the same charges as Navarre.

The pair exhausted their eligibility with the MSU basketball team at the end of last season.
