HELENA - The trial of a Helena man accused of driving drunk and crashing his vehicle into a house has been continued.

Norman Slead faces felony DUI and criminal endangerment charges for the Oct. 22 crash in the Northeast Helena Valley. No one was injured in the wreck, but there were people in the house.

A status conference on the charges is scheduled in District Court on Thursday.

Slead was convicted of one count of negligent homicide and one count of negligent vehicular assault stemming from a November 1995 wreck that killed a 15-year-old girl and seriously injured another teen.

Slead had completed his sentence and was no longer under the supervision of the state at the time of the October crash. He also was convicted in Helena City Court in 1989 on a DUI charge.
