Bitterroot, Flathead forest supervisors named

MISSOULA - U.S. Forest Service Northern Regional Forester Leslie Weldon has announced the appointment of two forest supervisors in Montana.

Julie King is the new Bitterroot National Forest supervisor and Chip Weber takes over as supervisor for the Flathead National Forest. King has been with the Forest Service for 22 years and was named the deputy supervisor of the Bitterroot in November 2008. She is a native of Utah, graduated from Utah State and has worked for the agency in Idaho, New Mexico and Utah. Her appointment is effective in mid-April.

Weber comes to the Flathead from a district ranger position in Oregon and has worked for the Forest Service for 24 years. Weber is a native of New Jersey and graduated from Oregon State and received a master's from the University of Washington. He has also worked for the agency in Alaska, Indiana and at the agency headquarters in Washington, D.C. He is scheduled to begin his new job on May 10.
