MISSOULA - Montana Highway Patrol officials say a Missoula woman is dead after a crash on U.S. Highway 93 near Ravalli.

Patrolman Shad Andersen says the collision happened around 12:30 p.m. Sunday when a wheel came off a single-axle trailer that was being pulled by an SUV. Andersen says the tire rolled into the opposite lane and hit another SUV, causing it to slide sideways and collide with a motorcycle.

Missoula County Sheriff Mike McMeekin identified the motorcyclist as 46-year-old Robin Dawn Howell-Hintz. She was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.
