KALISPELL - Flathead County commissioners have asked department heads to cut more from their budgets.

The commissioners have handed out budget forms for each department asking for specific ways to cut costs. The deadline to complete the forms is March 19.

County Administrative Officer Mike Pence says the county has already directed agencies to reduce spending and continue a hiring freeze, but this takes it a step further.

Commissioners say they are concerned about the burden being placed on county residents due to the economic downturn.
