BILLINGS - The Montana Highway Patrol has released the name of a 65-year-old Pennsylvania woman who was killed when the motorcycle she was riding was struck by a semi tractor-trailer on a frontage road in Billings.

Kathryn A. Magness of Clarion, Pa., died early Wednesday afternoon, while her husband, 69-year-old Dean Magness, was critically injured. The patrol says the couple were riding a motorcycle in a straight line behind two other motorcycles.

Sgt. Craig Baum says Dean Magnuss pulled over to the side of the road as though he was going to pull off. As the driver of the semi started to pass the motorcycle, the motorcycle pulled in front of the semi as if to make a U-turn.

The patrol says the motorcycle was struck broadside and pushed off the side of the road.
