LIVINGSTON - Park County authorities say a Livingston man was found dead of an apparent suicide in the county jail.

Sheriff Allan Lutes says 41-year-old Richard C. Newville was found dead Tuesday afternoon. Lutes and County Attorney Brett Linneweber did not release further details, but said an autopsy would be performed to determine the cause of death.

The Division of Criminal Investigations of the state Department of Justice is leading the investigation of Newville's death. Newville was facing a charge of felony theft and misdemeanor charges of burglary, driving without insurance and driving under the influence of drugs.
