Governor names Eve Franklin health policy adviser

HELENA - Gov. Brian Schweitzer has named Eve Franklin as his policy adviser on health and families.

Schweitzer says Franklin's experience in the field of health and public service makes her a good choice for the position. Franklin says working on policies that impact the health of Montana's families has long been a passion for her, and says the job is an exciting and unique opportunity to help shape the state's future.

Franklin will start immediately. Salary for the job is $65,280.

Franklin most recently served as the Mental Health Ombudsman for the state. Prior to that, she was executive director of the Montana Nurses' Association and has served as an assistant professor at the Montana State University College of Nursing. Franklin served in the Montana Legislature from 1991 to 2007.
