GLACIER NATIONAL PARK - The search for a hiker missing in the backcountry of Glacier National Park since last week will be scaled back.

The National Park Service says that searchers have not been able to find any more clues about the fate of 27-year-old Yi-Jien Hwa of Louisville, Ky. He was reported missing on Aug. 18, the last day of a planned 100-mile hike. Search managers say they will reduce the effort in the absence of developments.

A team of hikers and mountaineers has been looking for the hiker in some of the region's most difficult terrain. Park spokeswoman Norma Sosa says the active search for the hiker will be stopped all together the middle of this week if no new information is found. Hwa was last seen August 11th.
