The adaptation, "Another Side of the Island" was co-written and is co-directed by Dukakis, Margo Whitcomb and Greg Hoffman. Dukakis says she was drawn to the Shakespeare comedy because the story is about giving up on vengeance and moving toward forgiveness.

In this version, the character Prospero, the duke who has been unseated and set adrift on the sea, becomes the duchess Prospera, played by Dukakis.

The role of the king is played by Dukakis' husband, Louis Zorich, who played Burt Buchman, the father of Paul Reiser's character in the 1990s television show "Mad About You."

The play runs Tuesdays through Saturday this week and next at the Whitefish Center for the Performing Arts.
