HAMILTON - Two men from Woodstock, Ga., have pleaded not guilty to animal cruelty charges in a Ravalli County case.

Craig Heydon and Curtis Heydon face four counts of cruelty to animals. They entered their pleas Monday in Justice Court. Prosecutors say four horses owned by the Heydons were found overworked, neglected and malnourished. Hikers found one horse on the Big Creek Trail last weekend, unable to move. The owners told investigators they left the horse on the trail because it was being stubborn. Deputies found three more malnourished horses in a pen near Stevensville. The horses have been turned over to an animal shelter.
