BOZEMAN - Crews have rescued a 48-year-old Bozeman woman who was hit by a large boulder while descending Mount Cowen, southeast of Livingston.

Incident commander Stephen Voss says the woman fell about 30 feet Sunday and sustained chest and back injuries. Her name wasn't released. Search and rescue teams flew a doctor to the site to stay with the injured woman and other rescuers overnight. A helicopter evacuated the climber early Monday. The Park County Sheriff's Department said the woman was an experienced climber.
