Man walks away from prisoner prerelease center

BOZEMAN - A 55-year-old man who went missing from a prisoner prerelease center has been found at a motel in Belgrade.

Floyd Elquist is serving time on a felony theft conviction. He signed out of the dormitory behind the Law and Justice Center in Bozeman for a doctor's appointment Tuesday morning. But he wasn't present during a security count that afternoon.

Elquist was taken into custody in Belgrade without incident Wednesday. He now faces two to 10 additional years in prison on an escape charge.
