Helena teen involved in fatal crash back in court

HELENA - A 17-year-old Helena boy who received a deferred prison sentence after a rollover crash that killed his teenage passenger has admitted that he used drugs since his sentence.

With violation of his probation, Joshua Schleining now faces prison. Schleining appeared in court Thursday and said he used marijuana on at least two occasions and altered his urine for a drug test at least twice. He faces up to 20 years in prison on a negligent homicide charge stemming from a one-vehicle rollover last year that killed 16-year-old Sarah Lynn Russell.

Court documents state that Schleining was speeding in his SUV north of York on July 22nd before the vehicle went down a 100-foot embankment and crashed in a creek. Russell was ejected and drowned. Blood tests showed Schleining had in his system the active ingredients in marijuana.
