HAMILTON, Mont. (AP) — A 36-year-old Victor man accused of molesting a 4-year-old boy has pleaded guilty to felony sexual assault.

The Ravalli Republic reports that Daniel Garner entered his plea Thursday on the second day of what was expected to be a three-day trial in District Court. Judge James Haynes dismissed three counts of rape and scheduled a sentencing hearing for Nov. 18.

Prosecutors say the assault occurred at a campground where Garner lived in a trailer during the summer of 2009. The boy's grandmother lived in the same campground, and Garner baby-sat the boy when she went to work. The assault was reported in October 2009.

Court records say Garner acknowledged he and the boy were naked together and had inappropriate sexual contact.
