HELENA, Mont. (AP) — The chief executive officer of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana is retiring after 36 years with the company.

Sherry Cladouhos announced Tuesday she planned to retire before the end of the year.

Cladouhos became president and CEO of the insurer in 2005. Earlier this year, she ceded the title of president to Mike Frank, an attorney who has been with the company for 11 years.

Frank will assume the role of CEO when Cladouhos retires. He has previously served as chief operation officer and general counsel for the company.

Cladouhos joined Blue Cross in 1974 and moved up the ranks, becoming senior vice president for marketing and operations in 2001.
