BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Billings police are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred on the city's South Side.

Police Sgt. Matt Brewer says an 18-year-old man suffered a single gunshot wound to his abdomen while he was walking with his cousin around 5 a.m. Friday. The victim is in surgery and officials say the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Brewer says the victim and his cousin were approached by people in a gray passenger car. A man shot the victim from the vehicle and then fled.
