POLSON, Mont. (AP) — A suspect in the 2005 killing of a 73-year-old St. Ignatius man whose body was found in his burned trailer house has pleaded not guilty to deliberate homicide.

Prosecutors say Kyle Brown and three other men conspired to rob Harold Mitchell Jr., whom they believed had large amounts of money in his home.

Mitchell died of a knife wound to the neck that severed the carotid artery. Prosecutors say the fire was set July 7, 2005, to cover up the slaying.

Brown pleaded not guilty at a hearing Wednesday in district court in Polson. His bail has been set at $100,000

Two other suspects, Clifford Oldhorn and Nathan Ross, have pleaded not guilty and have been released on bond.
