Ravalli County police seek ATM thieves

HAMILTON, Mont. (AP) — The Ravalli County Sheriff's office wants to hear from anyone being paid in large amounts of $20 bills following a rash of ATM thefts that began last spring.

Police say that since March, thieves have hit eight businesses, taking ATMs and safes.

Ravalli County Sheriff's Detective Scott Burlingham says businesses should remove all cash before closing because leaving cash overnight is like leaving food out in bear country.

Two business have been broken into twice.
