Montana State University has prevailed in a sexual discrimination lawsuit filed by former women's basketball coach Robin Potera-Haskins.

A federal judge in Butte ruled Tuesday that Potera-Haskins did not prove her claim that the women's basketball program at Montana State was treated any differently than the men's program.

U.S. District Judge Sam Haddon wrote that Potera-Haskins raised the discrimination complaints "to draw attention from or to blunt the impact of the extremely serious and harmful consequences of her conduct as head women's basketball coach."

Potera-Haskins was fired March 2004 after school officials investigated complaints about how she treated her players and that she violated NCAA rules that limit practice to 20 hours a week.
