Senator Jon Tester took the floor of the U.S. Senate to urge his colleagues to restore funding for Montana's war on drugs. President Bush has proposed cutting $350 million dollars from nationwide drug-fighting efforts. That - Tester says - would be a step backward in the substantial progress our state has made in the battle. In his speech he said, "These drug task forces are success stories. The officers that are on the front lines keep drugs, drug smugglers and the dealers off our streets. They make our communities safer. They reduce crime. And they make a place like Montana a whole lot safer to live and raise a family."
