On December 21, 2008 17 year-old Ian Hineman passed away from Carbon Monoxide poisoning in the Flathead Valley. This prompted Robyn Balcom and Scotty Hineman to start Ian's Challenge, an initiative to give discounts on Carbon Monoxide detectors. Scotty & Robyn then took the challenge to the State Capital passing Senate bill 161 to make Carbon Monoxide detectors mandatory in all new Montana homes.
